Reading and Writing 4

In Level 4 the children, ages 7-9, will deepen their understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, bringing greater meaning and flow to their writing. They’ll learn to join sentences with conjunctions, add adjectives and adverbs for detail, and start using punctuation like speech marks and exclamation points effectively.

This class helps children craft richer, more expressive sentences, transforming their ideas into clear, engaging text.

Tricky spellings (such as ough, igh) and silent letters are taught, along with irregular plural nouns.

In addition to continuing with the reading scheme, children begin reading instructions and are introduced to their first reading comprehension exercises.

Spelling and dictation are balanced with fun word games to keep learning engaging and interactive.

Learning to put words in alphabetical order and use dictionaries helps children improve their story writing and journal entries.

Key reading and writing concepts, along with new vocabulary, are integrated through exciting themes such as volcanoes, space, and jungles, making learning both engaging and meaningful.

My kids have been attending Custom Kids classes for more than 5 years now, which has helped them a lot to boost their English skills and feel confident and interested in improving their English overall. I honestly did not even realize how quickly they started reading and became quite fluent. They have always liked their teachers and went to class with high motivation, from playgroup to first reading and writing all the way to creative writing classes. The class activities vary a lot and leave freedom to the kids to also choose what they want to do, depending on their interest. They also enjoyed some acting in class, preparing the end of the year performances for the parents.
